The activity promotes positive processes through the recovery of autonomy, a fundamental part of every enabling process and indispensable premise for every initiative of social inclusion.
I am at the heart of this project the learning and acquisition of native skills and functional skills useful to everyday life. The individualized program, shared with the multidisciplinary team of CRIDA, the specialist doctors of the ASL, the social assistants of the territory, provides a working protocol presented in motor ludic form, but with the purpose – monitored at each stage and differentiated depending on the age and residual capacities
– to transfer to other contexts the skills and functional strategies acquired in the water.

01. What is it?
Autonomy service is a socio-sanitary program of adapted motor activities that aims to promote and promote social inclusion, participation in the active life of people with disabilities, through enabling, ludical and socializing activities carried out in aquatic environment.
It is intended to allow the learning and recovery of personal autonomy, the improvement of motor and relational capacity for people with disabilities, an indispensable premise for every initiative of social inclusion.
The project aims to partially transfer the skills and functional strategies learned in water, in other contexts. The interventions are organized in an individual or group form, in cycles of different duration and intensity and take place on daytime hours for 11 months a year. The activities are carried out by a multi-professional team of operators with specific training and provide programmes aimed at swimming learning, also side by side in swimming courses open to all and programs of education to autonomy in water.
02. What requirements?
To whom is addressed recipients of this Convention are subject adults and minors with established disabilities and/or with problems of psychic discomfort, and/or social adaptation that require an improvement of the motor and relational capacities of age between 3 – 64 years.
Priority access to the service is given to users/assisted residents in the Zone
District/SdS Pratese.
If there is a possibility, users of other Zones may also use the service.
District /SS.dd.SS. of the Company USL Toscana Centro and, in sub-order, of other health companies or even private citizens.
Access requirements
– possession/recognition of disability under Law 104/1992 and/or civil invalidity greater than or equal to 2/3 (67%);
– do not take advantage of similar rehabilitative performance, placed at the expense of
National Health Service;
– socio-environmental and relational condition at risk of isolation and/or reduction of relationships and social integration in the context of the person’s life.
03. How to access
Terms, deadlines, submission of the application. It is accessed through the direct request of the person concerned or of his representative, at the social worker of the territorial presidio of residence.
The social worker connects with specialist operators of reference of the person
(neuropsychiatry, physicist) for the purpose of socio-sanitary evaluation and definition of the individual project shared with the data subject and/or his representative.
Time and time of practice
The activation of the service takes place according to the annual operational programming and authorization from the professional organizational structures and the available resources.
The interventions have the temporaryity of 6,12 renewable months as indicated in the individual project, periodically verified by the socio-sanitary services in integration with the operators of the Crida that carry out the activities in water.
04. Where is it?
The service takes place in Prato at the communal pool GESCAL, in via delle Gardenie, n° 69. The pool is 25 m for 8 m, the water temperature is set at 32°C to promote the stability in water of the users and the performance of the exercise floor.
05. Costs and payment methods
For those who access through conventions, there is no cost. It is however possible to carry out such activities also in private form on request of the user.
